About Us

Steel Plus Buildings Ltd has been building a reputation for quality steel construction for over 35 years, throughout New Zealand and beyond. The company has grown and undergone a number of changes since its beginnings as Hawker engineering, when the business was established as one of the major manufacturers of half round buildings in the North Island. Photographs from the early days show our buildings remain largely unchanged today.
 

 

Our team at Steel Plus pre-fabricate our buildings in the factory at Mt Maunganui, and transport them to customers throughout New Zealand. The builders who do the erecting are familiar with the manufacturing process and are able to erect the buildings very efficiently. The buildings can be supplied in kitset form, but because the experience of the Steel Plus builders enables them to work so quickly there is not always a cost saving when the cost of supplying your own builders is added to the kitset price.
